Job Descriptions/Ways to Be Involved


Here are some examples of MYN jobs; jobs are rotating and we make every effort to meet requests:

ANCHORS:
Anchors will introduce the show, reporters and feature stories, and deliver news.
Anchors will write their own scripts (due one week before Tape Day).
Anchors will be expected on Tape Day ready to go! 

REPORTERS:
Reporters will deliver News on a variety of topics -- school, sports, special events.
Reporters will write their own scripts (due one week before Tape Day).
Reporters will either deliver videotaped pieces or tape in the studio on Tape Day.

REGULAR SEGMENTS:
Around Town -- stories relevant to shops, local business, etc
Kid on the Street -- interviews with "kids on the street" about any topic
Sports -- sports updates about a particular team or event
Regular segments must be completed (fully edited) and ready to go on Tape Day.


FEATURES:
Anyone can do a feature -- topics are varied and not-specific.
Features must be completed (fully edited) and ready to go on Tape Day.

REVIEWS:
Book, restaurant or cultural reviews are always welcome!

OPINION:
Anyone can do an Opinion Piece!
Opinion reporters will be expected at Tape Day.

ALL STORIES SHOULD NOT EXCEED 5 MINUTES!
Only those taping "in studio" (anchors, obviously, and any others) are required at Tape Day.

DIRECTORS/CAMERA/PRODUCTION:
Directors will work with MHTV Staff to keep on-air talent on mark and organized.
Directors are expected at Tape Days.

Camera Apprentices will work with MHTV Staff to shoot Tape Day.
Camera Apprentices are expected at Tape Days.

Producers will make sure Tape Days run smoothly.
Producers will keep track of timing, scripts, etc. on Tape Day.

Teleprompter operators will monitor the teleprompter.
Teleprompter operators are expected on Tape Day.

GRAPHIC DESIGN/PROMOTIONS:
Kids are welcome to create original content -- show openers/enders, ads for MYN, etc -- at any time.
