“If you're not nervous, it's not important to you.
There's a difference between being nervous and being scared.
Being nervous gives you a little tension and excitement...." - Dick Lee
Don't know who Dick Lee is? Me neither, but I loved the quote and I think it summed up our second show very, very well. Thanks to some Google research, Dick Lee was a coach of women's basketball -- I think...it might have been track -- but it doesn't really matter. The point is that butterflies in the gut or sweaty palms means only that we care intensely about what it is we're doing. And though I'm sure someone said it far better than I am, caring intensely is the absolute key to being successful in nearly everything that matters in life: school, work, love, family.
The secret is to remember that every single one of us has to do a hard thing for the first time -- and even the second or the third or the twentieth time before we figure out how to do it the way we want. The trick is to learn something new along the way and, most importantly, to laugh up a storm while learning it!
(Laughing, in my opinion, is one of the very best parts about being a human and anyone who's anyone will tell you that the best laughs are the ones you have on yourself.)
I can't wait until our second edition of MYN airs! I will update this post as soon as I have firm dates.
Please be sure to check the STORIES page to read up on and submit ideas for our next show. We have our anchors but will be making assignments this week.
In the meantime, here's some pictures:
